Scaling Patterns
Numeric

Numeric brought me back in at a pivotal moment: the product had strong traction, a fast-growing team, and expanding use cases — but the UI and workflow patterns weren’t built to scale. Early features were functional but inconsistent, and as new verticals were added, the experience began to fragment. My role was to help transform Numeric from a collection of features into a cohesive, extensible platform.
Below is the original "Reconcile" page I helped the team design back in 2020.

I began by mapping core workflows (planning, reconciliation, review) and identifying where clarity, hierarchy, and consistency were breaking down. These insights became the basis for a lightweight system of reusable patterns, layout rules, and interaction models that engineering could adopt immediately. The goal wasn’t to decorate the UI — it was to create a structural foundation that enabled speed, quality, and predictable behavior as the product grew.
In addition to new verticals, the redesign also needed to make the tool more collaborative as the company scaled to accomodate larger accounting teams.

The experience I gained working for Numeric was priceless. I was always the lone designer when I worked for the company and while I missed the collaboration of peers, I was able to grow by fully dictating how I wanted their systems to behave, and to essentially own the design direction at the company.
More to come on this case study.
